INSTRUCTIONS FOR NOSE BLEEDS

1. NO nose blowing or sneezing for one week.

2. NO vigorous activity for one week - running, lifitng, bending over.

3. NO aspirin or aspirin containing products for one week.

4. USE a humidifier during the dry winter months - remember to clean it.

5. APPLY Rhinaris (no scent), Ponaris Nasal Emollient (eucalyptus oil), or Ayr Nasal Saline gel with a Q-tip to each nostril twice a day for a week. These moisturizers may be continued indefinitely to help prevent future bleeding.

6. If nose bleeds again, apply pressure with thumb and forefinger to the soft part of the nose, closing both nostrils tightly for 10 minutes. If bleeding continues, then soak a cotton ball in neosynephrine nasal spray and insert in the bleeding nostril. Squeeze again for 10 minutes. Should bleeding continue, seek professional help.
